Earlham College is a private, liberal arts college in Richmond, Indiana. Established in 1847 by the Religious Society of Friends(Quakers), Earlham welcomes students of all faiths and offers an education rooted in such Quaker values as integrity, a commitment to peace and social justice, mutual respect and community decision-making.Earlham is ranked 29th (98th percentile) among 1,533 U.S. institutions of higher learning in the percentage of graduates who go on to receive Ph.D.s, and is 10th (99th percentile) in producing Ph.D.s in the biological sciences and 14th (99th percentile) in the life sciences. In 2016, Earlham ranked number 61 among national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. Forbes Magazinein 2016 ranked Earlham at 106 in private colleges and 82 in "grateful grads." Forbes gave Earlham an A+ financial rating.
