Consun Chinese Medicines Research Centre for Renal Diseases (CCRD), located at the Jockey Club School of Chinese Medicine Building, is established in February 2015, for recognition of the generous donation from Consun Pharmaceutical Group Limited.The aim of the centre is to provide a platform for innovative research on and development of preventative and therapeutic approaches for renal diseases, the nurturing of researchers and professionals, and the dissemination and transformation of knowledge of such approaches, and endeavor to carve out a leading role in this area and help build the reputation of Hong Kong Baptist University.

The Centre is committed to the pursuit of excellence by creating an environment that empowers creativity and innovation, and encourages collaboration and teamwork among laboratory scientists. We aim to establish an excellent platform to develop Chinese medicines for fighting kidney diseases. This Centre works to achieve its vision through four strategic initiatives: herbal pharmacological dynamic and kinetic studies (pharmacological studies), chemical studies, toxicological studies and make findings from basic science useful for practical applications (translational studies).

Academics: Staff members are of 6 members and they are focussed on research activities and the research lab is with Cellular & Molecular Biology Lab, Histopathology & Bio-imaging Lab ,Synthesis & Pharmaceutics & Chemical Analysis Lab ,Bioinformatics & Drug Design Lab, Experimental Animal Center and  Research tools with drug discovery and clinical tools
Research Focus  on normal kidney function, cellular mechanisms that contribute to kidney diseases, and cure of renal-related diseases using Chinese medicines.
