CUHK aims to nurture students with both specialized knowledge and wisdom for life. CUHK undertakes a wide range of research programmes in many subject areas, and strives to provide scope for all academic staff to undertake consultancy and collaborative projects with industry. CUHK has over 60 academic departments under eight faculties: Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science, and Social Science. The Graduate School was set up to coordinate postgraduate studies in 1966, a year after the launch of its first graduate programme in 1965.
