The UNIVERSITY OF CASTILLA-LA MANCHA (UCLM) is a Spanish university. It has various branches and offering various courses in the cities of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Almaden and Toledo etc. HISTORY Currently the University of Castilla-La Mancha is not the key educational institution in the region. Centuries ago, until the late 15th century, the University of Sigüenza and the Pontifical and Royal University College of Santa Catalina of Toledo, originating precisely at the end of that same century, were already offering educational activities in the region. The University of Castile-La Mancha (UCLM) is a Spanish university, which was recognised by law on 30 June 1982. It offers courses in the cities of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Toledo, Almadén and Talavera de la Reina. SCHOOLS AND CAMPUSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE UNIVERSITY: There are several campuses associated with this university and those campuses operate on a decentralised basis. The main governing body is located in Ciudad Real, which coordinates with all other centres. University courses are taught at all four locations. Schools of Agronomical Engineering. Computer Science Engineering. Industrial Engineering Nursing Teacher Training and Employment Relations are also associated with the university. Ciudad Real city is hometown to the Faculties of Chemical Sciences. Law and Social Sciences, Arts. The Higher Technical Schools of Civil Engineering. Information Technology Industrial Engineering Technical Institute of Agriculture. The Polytechnic University School of Almadén. University School of Nursing. University School of Teacher Training. Cuenca has the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Polytechnic University School of Technical Architecture. The Polytechnic University School of IT in Telecommunications. STATISTICS When we come across the statistics of the students, international students and academic faculty staff we have seen drastic difference in between local and international students. Total number of students are 23,503, in which 9% are Post graduates and 91% are Under graduates. From them number of international students are 683, among them 37% are Post graduates and 63% are Under graduates. In total, Academic faculty staff are 1,654, in which 23 are from outside the country. RESEARCH Besides the centres devoted to both education and research, the University of Castilla-La Mancha has a network of centres and institutes which group and channel certain lines of thematic research.
