California College of Ayurveda (CAA) is an American private college specializing in the field of Ayurvedic
medicine founded in 1995 by Marc Halpern with the support of Dr. Subhash Ranade from Pune, at Nevada City, California. In 1996 this became the first longest running state approved ayurvedic college in the west to train practitioners of Ayurvedic
medicine & is approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary
Education (BPPE) as prescribed by the standards set forth in the
Education Code.
He is also a founded National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. In 1999 the College was the first Western institution to sign a memorandum of understanding with an Indian College of Ayurveda.
The Colleges first community clinic opened in Grass Valley, California in 1997. In 2010, the college and clinic moved into a larger campus located in Nevada City. In 2010, it expanded its activities into Latin America through a sister college; Escuela de Ayurveda de California.
It offers a comprehensive curriculum, with three levels of programs leading to certification as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (C.A.S.). CCA brought the healing wisdom of Ayurveda to the West
