Birmingham women’s hospital is the NHS based
Fertility centre in Edgbaston area of Birmingham. The hospital got granted under NHS trust foundation on February 1, 2008. From diagnosis of
infertility to assisted conception treatment and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis they serve the best in pregnancy and they offer best care from diagnosis to delivery and help in supporting them through counselling and guidance at every step. In this hospital the modern maternity care named as ‘’ Flying Squads’’. In today’s time the hospital is delivering 8000 babies every year. The hospital have organised a team with
health care professionals,
midwives and consultant obstetricians who are hand to answer the queries. The hospital runs the outpatient clinics for womens who are suffering from urinary and bowel incontinence and prolapse and they also provide a group sessions for women who develop pelvic girdle
pain and low back
pain during pregnancy. It also includes genetic research and patient care with
cancer and rare diseases. The hospital holds one of the project which is collaborative of 100,000 Genomes. Birmingham women’s hospital helps NHS funded as well as self-funded patient and it is also known as home to the National sperm bank where the donors wish to donate their
egg and sperm. The hospital provides support to the individuals and families who are undergoing
investigation of genetic condition by genetic counselling, information, on-going support, etc.
