The Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL) is an institution founded on 1 April 2009 through the merger of the Berlin School of Economics (BSE) and the FHVR Berlin, a university of applied sciences for administration and law. The University of Applied Sciences forms an academic centre specialised in business and administration skills for the public and private sector, as well as public security, the law and engineering. The BSEL is characterized by a variety of application-oriented research and is a member of the university association "Alliance for Excellence" (UAS7). The university supports research activities targeted by an internal research funding. The BSEL is also a member of the Institute for Applied Research in Berlin e. V. (IFAF). It is a central concern of BSEL continuously to ensure the quality of teaching and learning with appropriate methods and procedures and develop. Degree programs at the intersection with other disciplines are Certificate course in "Environmental and Quality Management", Graduate course in "Industrial Engineering - Environment" and Certificate course in "Health Economics".
