Baylor University is a private Baptist university located in Waco, Texas. Republic President (Anson Jones) established the university on February 1, 1845. Today it has 12 Nationally Recognized academic divisions providing educational and research opportunities to almost 16,000 students from all 50 states, the district of Colombia and 89 Countries. The university Campus is extended over approximately 16,000-acer on Brazos river. Also in 2014 McLane Stadium was opened by the university in 93 acers of land.
The University has ranked No. 71 by U.S. News & World Report in 2017. It has also ranked No. 64 by Kiplinger's 2017 list of Best Values in Private Colleges. Out of 23 universities in the nation, it has received an “A” from American Council of Trustees and Alumni in 2015. In 2016, the university has enrolled total 16,959 students. Out of this 42% were male students and 58% were female students. There are 142 undergraduate degree programs, 75 master's programs and 42 doctoral programs provided by the University. There are 12 residence halls in which 39% of students live.
Apart from education, Baylor also has 330 clubs and organizations. The clubs and organizations have many options for students like academic, Greek life, multicultural, religious, representative, service, special interest and spirit/sport.
The University offers 19 different sports and athletes have won a combined 65 Big 12 Conference championships. The university has four Olympic gold medalists with 10 gold medals won. The University also offers both Army and Air force ROTC for students.
