Babcock University was founded in 1959 as the Adventist College of West Africa (ACWA), Having the centrality of faith-based teaching, Babcock has strong traditions and it accent the integration of faith and learning, knowing that to educate a man without God is to educate an intelligent devil to achieve excellence in teaching, learning and research. From her initial four schools, Babcock has added a postgraduate school which took off in the third quarter of 2010 and a medical school which took off in January 2012. Today, Babcock hosts nine schools and one college offering the wide range of Courses such as Medical Sciences, Humanities, Law & Security Studies, Nursing, Public & Allied Health. Babcock has earned an award as the Best Private University in Africa. Indeed, Babcock is the leader in offering in Nigeria an education that inspires hope and transform lives. The mission of Babcock University is to achieve excellence in our teaching, research programme and service delivery, Imparting quality Christian education and Instilling Christ-like character to the members of our community.
