The Arcada foundation was found under the name of The Foundation for Helsinki Technical Grammar School on September 12th 1930 later it changed on to The Arcada Foundation.
The Arcada University of Applied Sciences was established in Helsinki in 1996. It was a mandate that the Finnish Ministry of
education and culture in 1998 to promote the Finnish-Swedish languages and culture, taking into particular consideration the educational needs to young Finnish of Swedish origin.
The Arcada has originated from three different institutions situated at different locations, moved into the one building in Arabianranta in 2004 and so created the foundation for one campus.
The departments in the University are Department of
business of
Management and Analytic, Department of Energy and Materials Technology department of
health and Welfare, Department of Culture and Communication.
Arcada further
education attracts a lot of students to develop their skills in all aspects and also in higher educational background.
