Abertay University, formerly known as the University of Abertay Dundee is located in Scotland. Abertay University was founded in 1888, as Dundee Technical Institute and was described as one of the nations industrial universities by the Scottish Office in 1902.
The University was granted with the right to use the formal title of University of Abertay Dundee in 1994 and now it is known as Abertay University. The University comprises of four academic departments and is rated as rated as Scotlands top university for environmental science, and best modern university for
law and psychology. Abertay is the first university to offer a "computer games" degree in 1997 in world.
Today it remains a leader in the field with two major new developments - the creation of the UKs first Centre for Excellence in Computer Games Education, and a
business support programme. Abertay University enrolls many international students also. Over 17% of their students are from countries outside Europe, including India, China, Malaysia, Thailand and Pakistan.
