Yanping Liu, M.D., Ph.D., is a medical officer in the Center for Research Capacity Building where she oversees the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) Phase I and Phase II grants. Liu was previously a medical officer in the Division of Research Infrastructure at the former National Center for Research Resources. She came to NIH from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she was first an assistant and later an associate professor in the department of medicine. Prior to that, Liu was a cardiologist at Beijing Friendship Hospital in China. She earned an M.D. at the Capital University of Medical Sciences in China and a Ph.D. in physiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she also conducted postdoctoral research.
