He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (1998), a Master's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (2001) and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Pharmacology and Experimental Therapy) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro 2006). Postdoctoral degree from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (2007-2008) and the University of Nottingham, UK (2012-2013). He is currently an Associate Researcher and Vice-Chief of the Inflammation Laboratory of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, where he is a permanent professor of the Stricto Sensu Post-Graduation Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Coordinator of the Cell Signaling Pathways discipline. He is as Coordinator of the Teaching Internship Program and Member of the Technical Board of Education and of the Curricular Internship Program of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute. He is currently a FAPERJ Young Scientist Program fellow, a productivity fellow at CNPq (PQ-2) and a member of SBFTE's Fiscal Council. He has experience in the field of Pharmacology and Physiology, with emphasis in Cellular Pharmacology and Biochemistry and Endocrine Physiology, working mainly in the following subjects: diabetes, stress, mast cell, and inflammation
