Timea Kokeny is currently working as Research Scientist at Syngenta since 2014. she completed her masters in Horticultural science at Corvinus University of Budapest. She holds the following responsibilities at Syngenta: As part of the global plant RNAi team, design, formulate and assess whole plant experiments (including RNA extraction from E. coli and identify various buffer components or transfection reagents that can be used in the experiments) - Carry out tests using Tobacco cell culture to understand and enhance RNA uptake mechanisms - Report to the global team explaining the results, considering suggestions and working together with members of the Molecular Biology and Formulation teams - qPCR and RT-PCR, d-CAPS assay method development for new plant species and targets, including reference gene identification and primer design - Training team member to use laboratory equipment (such as qPCR, centrifuges, etc.) and molecular biology techniques (RNA and DNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, etc.)
