Foko holds a PhD in digital media, specialising in information and communications technology in education from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2006). He is a principal researcher in the technology implementation and monitoring and evaluation group. He joined the CSIR as a senior researcher in 2006. Foko’s responsibilities include serving as an assistant national contact point for the European Framework 7 Programme, and also as a CSIR contact point for the Department of Cooperative Governance.
Foko’s research interests lie in the field of information and communications technology (ICT) in education, monitoring and evaluation, digital media, and ICT for development.
