Tanya Hoodbhoy, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Genetics and Developmental Biology. She oversees research grants in the area of developmental genetics. Before joining NIGMS, she was a program director in the Office of Strategic Coordination of the NIH Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives. Prior to that, Hoodbhoy was a scientific review officer for the Biology of Development and Aging Integrated Review Group at Center for Scientific Review . She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Occidental College and a Ph.D. in biology from the University of California, Riverside. Hoodbhoy conducted postdoctoral research on the molecular mechanisms underlying mammalian fertilization and early development at the University of California, Riverside, and National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
