Professor Sir Roy was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 1 October 2007. Professor Sir Roy is a world-renowned medical scientist with advanced knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology, and is currently Professor of Infectious Disease in the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College, London. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society, the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Royal Statistical Society. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and a Foreign Associate Member of the National Academy of Medicine at the US National Academy of Sciences and the French Academy of Sciences.
