Bugan holds a PhD from Stellenbosch University. He has over 10 years’ experience in the water sector, having been involved in several projects related to water salinisation, artificial groundwater recharge, aquifer management, groundwater recharge, the impacts of invasive alien vegetation on water resources, the use of remote sensing data in water resources management and hydrogeological/hydrological modelling.
Bugan’s research interests and expertise are in aquifer management, monitoring and modelling of water resources at various spatial scales, catchment scale water and salinity management, and water balance computation techniques.
