He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Gama Filho University (1988), a Master's degree in Parasitary Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (1993) and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (1998). He is currently a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation and head of the Leishmaniosis Research laboratory. It guides students of scientific initiation, masters and doctorate. He is coordinator of the master's and doctoral program in Health Science, through the bilateral cooperation Fiocruz / Moçambique. He has experience in Parasitology, with emphasis on Human Parasitary Protozoology, working mainly in the following subjects: cellular biology, immunology, immunopathology and animal experimentation.
