Ameyali Ramos Castillo, a Mexican national, is a Research Fellow at the UNU Institute of Advanced Studies. Her research interests include indigenous knowledge, environmental governance, water resource management and climate change. She is particularly interested in examining the linkages between the local and international scales and how policy at one scale influences and is influenced by the other scale. Since 2007, Ameyali has been working on the Traditional Knowledge Initiative developing research activities on indigenous peoples, climate change and water. Her experience includes research and teaching activities in Mexico, Kenya, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, and Japan. Ameyali holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Governance from the Oxford University Environmental Change Institute in the UK, a Master of Science from the Oxford University Center for the Environment (UK), and a degree in Geography and Anthropology from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
