Dr Ramon Hall is currently a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Food Sciences and is also a Nutrition and Regulatory Consultant for the food industry. Ramon has over 20 years of experience working across food industry, academia and Government agencies in nutrition, regulatory and food safety roles. Prior to his current position, Ramon was Manager of the Dairy Health and Nutrition Consortium at Dairy Innovation Australia in Melbourne. In that role was responsible for strategic leadership of research activities and coordination of human research projects related to the health benefits of dairy foods. Prior to that role Ramon worked as a Senior Research Scientist (Nutritionist) at Fonterra Ingredient Innovation in New Zealand for 5 years where he was responsible for nutrition research planning and coordination of human efficacy trials to support global nutritional ingredient innovations. Before joining Fonterra, Ramon worked as a Lecturer in Food Science and Nutrition at Deakin University. Ramon has also held food related roles in the Victorian Government Department of Health and the Department of Primary Industries. He has published numerous food and nutrition research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and presented at many local and international conferences. Ramon is an active member of the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology and is past Chair of the Institute’s Victorian Nutrition and Microbiology Groups and he is also a Registered Nutritionist with the Nutrition Society of Australia.
