Biography

Paraskevi Papaioannidou is a professor of Pharmacology in Medical Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated in Chemistry and Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and she has a PhD in Pharmacology. She had a post-graduate education in the University of Alberta, Canada, and a post-doctoral education in Unicam Laboratories, Cambridge, UK. She has a long academic career in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she was the first tutor and organizer of courses in Pharmacology in the newly-established University of Thessaly, Greece, and she was a visiting researcher in the University of Bologna and the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She has a considerable collaboration in international research projects (including collaboration with ΝΙΗ, Bethesda, USA), she has created two European research networks (Follicle net and AntibioSurv) and she is the organizer and leader of the international research project ASPPOC. She is evaluator of the Greek Ministry of Education on European Research Projects, member of the Committee on European Educational Programs of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, reviewer and member of the Editorial Board of peer-review scientific journals, and organizer of International and Greek scientific Congresses. Currently she is a member of the Board of Directors of DOATAP (Hellenic NARIC), a member of the Executive Committee of the Greek Society of Pharmacology, and Vice-President of “Saint-George” (the Association of people from Korissos).
