Oberholster holds a PhD in Water Resource Management from the Colorado State University in the United States of America. He is particularly interested in water resource management and restoration, phytoplankton and aquatic toxicology. Oberholster is the first author of over 20 peer reviewed international papers since 2004 with a focus on water resource management.
