Paul Brazhnik, Ph.D., is chief of the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Branch in the Division of Biomedical Technology, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology. He oversees grants in the areas of bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, biostatistics and biological network modeling. Before joining NIGMS, Brazhnik served as a research associate professor in the department of biological sciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He also was a consulting scientist for Rosa Pharmaceuticals and, prior to that, a scientist at Entelos, Inc. Brazhnik earned an M.Sc. in physics and a Ph.D. in theoretical and mathematical physics from Moscow State University in Russia.
