He graduated in Microbiology from Universidad de Los Andes (1991-1996 - Bogotá, Colombia). He holds a Master's degree (2000-2002) and PhD (2003-2007) in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a concentration area in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute, FIOCRUZ, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Has experience in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with emphasis in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of parasitic protozoa (Leishmania spp, Trypanosoma spp, Trichomonas vaginalis). She is currently Researcher at the Laboratory of Leishmaniasis Research at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute, IOC, FIOCRUZ, Permanent Professor at the Postgraduate Course in Cellular and Molecular Biology of the IOC-FIOCRUZ (CAPES 7 concept), member of the Postgraduate Biology Commission Cellular and Molecular, Young Scientist from Our State by FAPERJ and Productivity Scholar, Level 2, of CNPq. Participates as an eventual ad hoc reviewer for indexed journals and for state, federal and international development agencies. It acts on the following themes: expression and characterization of proteases of parasites and insect vectors; biochemistry and functional genomics of protozoan parasites and hosts particularly in the proteomic analysis of parasites associated with distinct clinical manifestations of leishmaniasis.
