Biography

Ning Ruan obtained her Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Curtin University, Australia. From 2007 to 2010, she was a Research Associate in Virginia Tech, USA. She currently works in Faculty of Science and Technology at Federation University Australia. She is highly skilful in computer programming with FORTRAN, MATHEMATICA and MATLAB. Her research interest includes global optimization, operations research, sensor network, system engineering, applied mathematics and large scale computation. So far she has many peer-reviewed academic papers published or accepted for publication in highly reputed journals, such as IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics, Journal of Global Optimization, Performance Evaluation and Applied Mathematics and Computation. She gave presentations in international conferences, symposiums and research institutions. Now she is Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Accredited Member of Australian Mathematical Society, American Mathematical Society (AMS), Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). She is an invited reviewer for many international scholarly journals. She is the scientific/organizing committee member of The 3rd. World Congress on Global Optimization, China, 2013 and organizing committee chair for iSoGO Symposium of Interdisciplinary Computation, Optimization, 2014.
