Biography

He holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1979) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Genetics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991) . He is currently a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. Has experience in Genetics and Microbiology, with emphasis in Molecular Virology and Biotechnology. It is active in studies of the structure and function of flavivirus genes and proteins, in particular the yellow fever virus and the Zika virus, as well as the development of expression platforms based on the 17D yellow fever vaccine virus for the purpose of obtaining new recombinant vaccines
