Dr. Sanchez has a doctoral degree in Genetics. She has more than 20 years of experience working in basic and translational research on iron metabolism diseases. Dr. Sanchez worked for 8 years at the prestigious European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) at Heidelberg, Germany. She is group leader at Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute and has led several national and international research projects in iron-related diseases including Myelodysplastic Syndrome, Hereditary Hemochromatosis and Congenital Anaemias.
