Mats Rudling is a Professor of Experimental Cardiovascular Research at the Department of Bioscience and Nutrition and the Department of Medicine, Huddinge since 2005.
Mats Rudling research is in Endocrinology and Cardiovascular disease is one of the commonest causes of death in Sweden. Raised blood cholesterol level is a risk factor for these diseases. Studies have shown that lowering blood cholesterol levels leads to improved prognosis and survival in established cardiovascular disease. The body's ability to produce and remove cholesterol is affected, in part, by different hormones.
