Martin, works as a research scientist in the Protein and Peptide Chemistry department in Global Research in Novo Nordisk R&D. His job is to chemically modify proteins in order to improve their properties as drugs. For him, the most important, interesting, and challenging aspect of the job is to analyse the data he gets from pharmacologists and biophysicists, draw the right conclusions, and design the next generation of drugs based on that data and their experience. He has always been interested in how chemistry influences biological systems and how he can use chemical methods to understand and modify biological systems. This knowledge, he can now combine with my work at Novo Nordisk to develop new drugs.
