Biography

Mark Wiltermuth is a supervisory ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey at Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center in Jamestown, North Dakota. He has experience working on a variety of projects in which he has concentrated on landscape scale assessment of factors that influence ecosystem functions by using remote sensing and spatial analyses. His current research is focused on the interaction of land use and climate on wetland hydrology and the implications on wetland community structure. Mark currently leads a research branch at Northern Prairie focused on building a better understanding of functions of ecosystem complexes, their services that benefit society, and strategies for management by using an integrated science approach.
