He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1998), a Master's Degree in Morphological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001) and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (2006).
