He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1998), a Master's Degree in Morphological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2001) and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (2006). He is currently a public health technologist at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. It works mainly in the topics related to the pathogenesis of infectious diseases, addressing, for example, the role of inflammatory meters during the development of severe experimental malaria.
