Graduated in Biological Sciences (UERJ, 1982), Master's degree in Biology (Nuclear Biosciences-UERJ, 1989) and doctorate in Cellular and Molecular Biology (FIOCRUZ, 1993). He received a Doctorate Sandwich (CAPES) from the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College (London, England) and postdoctoral fellowship at the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine (London, England). She has been a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation since 1988 and has created the Department of Applied Pharmacology of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology (Farmanguinhos), bringing together a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the immunomaterial study and technological development of medicines for neglected and inflammatory diseases. of the Scientific Committee of the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative DNDi from 2006 to 2012. He is head of the Department of Pharmacology and member of the Management Committee of the Vice-Directorate of Research of Farmanguinhos. She is a teacher and permanent lecturer at the Postgraduate Course in Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, having up to that point completed 18 masters dissertations and 12 doctoral theses. He has experience in the field of immunopharmacology, with emphasis on cellular and molecular studies and preclinical studies for drug development. It mainly works on the following topics: inflammation, allergy, neglected diseases, natural products, drug development. 12 PhD theses.
