Biography

Margitta Seeck is Professor of Neurology at Geneva University, leading the so-called Presurgical Epilepsy Program Geneva-Lausanne. She has been chair of the Swiss Neurophysiological Society in which she is still actively involved in education about EEG and epilepsy. Margitta Seeck received her doctorate degree at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, and later moved to the USA to educate herself in EEG and epileptology at Beth Israel Hospital at Harvard University. Her main interests are epilepsy surgery, immunologically related epilepsy, neurophysiology of intracranial EEG measurements and EEG-based visualization in epilepsy. She is the author of more than 170 scientific articles on epilepsy in national and international journals, is part of several editorial boards for epilepsy journals, and is expert in the Swiss National Science Foundation and other research bodies in European and overseas countries.
