Biography

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000), a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences (Microbiology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002) and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Iowa. United States (2007), where he worked in the laboratory of the member of the National Academy of Sciences, Dr. E. Peter Greenberg. He completed his postdoctoral degree at the University of British Columbia, Canada (2008-2012), where he worked in the laboratory of the then Howard Hughes Medical Institute International Research Scholar, Dr. B. Brett Finlay. He returned to Brazil at the end of 2012 through the Science Without Borders program of CNPq (Bolsa Jovem Talento) and was soon incorporated into the permanent staff of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation - RJ as a Public Health Researcher.
