Liz joined Achilles from leading IP firm, D Young & Co, where she was a Senior Associate specialising in biotech patent work. Prior to that, Liz spent 9 years as Patent Counsel at GSK in the Vaccines business unit, with responsibility for a number of viral, bacterial and therapeutic vaccine projects. Her role involved all aspects of the patent lifecycle, including patentability analysis, drafting and prosecution, freedom to operate, due diligence, opposition and appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office, licensing agreements and managing IP aspects of R&D collaborations. Liz began her career in the Biotechnology and Life Sciences group at J A Kemp & Co where she qualified as a European and UK Chartered patent attorney. She has a MBiochem in Biochemistry and a MSc in Neuroscience from Oxford University.
