Joseph Gindhart, Ph.D., is a program director in the Division of Cell Biology and Biophysics. He oversees research grants involving motor proteins, cytoskeletal filaments and intracellular transport, and cellular, biochemical and molecular sciences predoctoral training grants. Prior to joining NIGMS, Gindhart was an associate professor in the department of biology at the University of Richmond and an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Gindhart earned a B.S. in biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in genetics from Indiana University. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Diego.
