Biography

Joris obtained his MSc in Toxicology and Environmental Health at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, in 2006. From 2007 to 2014, he worked at the department of Environmental Health at the Public Health Services Gelderland-Midden. From 2010 onwards, he carried out a PhD project on the long-term health effects of Q-fever at Radboud University Nijmegen, which he defended in early 2015. Within CRED, Joris carried out several studies within the field of climate and health, including studies on the impact of extreme heat events. He is currently working on the Horizon 2020 project BRIGAID and the impact of natural disasters on several countries in Asia.
