Biography

Jonas Schneider is a senior researcher at the Center for Security Studies (CSS). Previously, he held post-doctoral fellowships at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin and at the CSS and worked as a research associate at the Institute for Security Policy at the University of Kiel (ISPK) in Germany. Jonas holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Kiel. His research focuses on the causes of nuclear weapons proliferation and sensitive nuclear assistance. In particular, Jonas is interested in whether and how the individual characteristics of political leaders influence their nation’s attitudes towards pursuing a nuclear arsenal, abandoning their nuclear weapons activities, and supplying other countries with sensitive nuclear technologies.
