He has a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Fundação Oswaldo Cruz - FIOCRUZ (2004). He has a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ (1987). Post-Doctorate at the University of Utah (2008). He is currently Researcher at FIOCRUZ and Head of the Laboratory of Clinical Research in Intensive Medicine of the Clinical Research Institute Evandro Chagas - IPEC / FIOCRUZ. He is also coordinator of the Intensive Medicine research at the D'Or Institute for Research in Education (IDOR) and coordinator of the Laboratory of Inflammation and Metabolism (Lab20) of the INCT of Structural Biology and Bioimagem (INBEB). Coordinates the Brazilian Network of Research in Intensive Medicine (BRICNet). Founder of Hygeia Biotechnology.
