Biography

He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (1988), a Master's degree in Parasitary Biology (1992) and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology (1995). She was Deputy Director of Teaching, Information and Communication (2013-2017) and coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology (2005-2007) of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute. She is currently a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, curator of the Leishmania Collection at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute and responsible for the Leishmania Identification and Genotyping Service for the Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization. She is a member of the Research Laboratory in Leishmaniasis of the IOC. He has experience in the area of ​​Parasitology, with emphasis on Human Parasitary Protozoology, working mainly on the following topics: Leishmania, Trypanosoma cruzi, molecular epidemiology, Genetic diversity and evolution. She coordinates national and international research projects. She acts as a guide for students of scientific initiation, master's degree, doctorate and post-doctorate
