Elham Hossny, MD, PhD, is professor of pediatrics at the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (PAI) Unit, Children’s Hospital of Ain Shams University in Cairo since June 2001. She works in the PAI Unit since 1990. She is an active member of the executive board of the Egyptian Society of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology (ESPAI), and associate-editor of the Egyptian Journal of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. She served as member of the standing committee for promotion of pediatric faculty members of the Egyptian Universities (2008-2013). She is member of the board of directors of the World Allergy Organization and served as Vice-Chair of the Middle East/Africa Region Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (2012-2013). She is member (since 1998) and fellow (since 2001) of the AAAAI and served on many of its committees including the anaphylaxis and primary immunodeficiency committees. She is member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology since 2001 and affiliate member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology since 2007. She was granted the National Excellence State Award in Medicine (2009), the National Incentive State Award in Medicine (2001), and a Distinction Award from the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research (1995). She received several awards from Ain Shams University for international publication. She was also granted the title “The Ideal Doctor of Ain Shams University Hospitals” in 1985.
