Biography

Eleni Savvidou is a PhD student in the Department of Geomatic Engineering of the Cyprus University of Technology. Eleni has granted an MEng in Geospatial and Environmental Information Management in 2009 and an MSc in Environmental Systems Engineering in 2010, both form University College London, UK. She has worked as a research fellow in the HawkEye project of Cyprus University of Technology in collaboration with Electricity Authority of Cyprus, “UAV Technology in Service of EAC”, developing a GIS functionality for remote monitoring and mapping. Moreover she worked as a teaching assistant for the module “Databases for Geomatic Engineers”. She was a collaborator for the book “Tombs of the late bronze age around the area of Limassol” preparing maps presenting the LBA tombs and sites, and has also create a GIS for the vegetation, preservation areas and Natura boundaries of Akamas for the non-profit environmental organisation “Friends of Akamas”.
