He holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003) and a Doctorate in Sandwich Science from the University of Washington (2002) ). He completed post-doctoral training at the Laboratory of Immunopharmacology of the Biophysics Institute Carlos Chagas Filho (2006). He is currently a researcher at the permanent staff of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute - FIOCRUZ.
