Biography

Dr. Sánchez Obregón made his bachelor studies (major in Chemistry) at the School of Chemistry, Iberoamerican University. His MSc and PhD studies were carried out at the School of Chemistry, UNAM. During his sabbatical year he was academic visitor at the School of Chemistry, University of Ottawa, Canada, working in asymmetrical organic synthesis, with the group of Professor Alex G. Fallis. At present, he is Full Researcher at the Institute of Chemistry, UNAM. He has taken part in several national and international congresses and belongs to the Mexican Chemical Society. He belongs to the National Research System (Level I).

Research Intrest

At present, the focus of research in our group refers mainly to the development and application of new methods in asymmetric organic synthesis, through employment of the sulfynil group as chiral inductor.
