Dr. Hernández-Rodríguez received his B.Sc. in Chemistry degree from the School of Chemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM) He made his Ph.D. in chemistry at The Center of Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del I.P.N) with Prof. Eusebio Juaristi as advisor, defending the thesis: Application of chiral (thio)ureas as: organocatalysts, ligands and chiral solvating agents. He was a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Albert Eschenmoser and Prof. Krishnamurthy Ramanarayanan group at The Scripps Research Institute working with design and synthesis of potentially prebiotic structures to the nucleic acids. He joined the Chemistry Institute in 2009. he is the Member of the National Research System, level I (since 2011).
Dr. Hernández-Rodríguez focused on Self-assemble organocatalyst, Bifunctional organocatalyst, Chiral auxiliaries, Recognition of enantiomers.
