Dr. Miranda obtained his B. Sc. degree in Chemisry, from the School of Chemistry of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico in 1994, and completed his doctoral dissertation in 2000 at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). After a postdoctoral appointment with Professor Samir Z. Zard at Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles (CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette), he joined the faculty at the Instituto de Química UNAM, in 2001, and is now Full Researcher. He honored as a Member of the National Research System, level II.
Dr. Miranda focused on Design, development and synthetic applications of new methodologies using free radical reactions, Xantates used as source of free radicals, Free radicals addition on aromatic systems, Radical-oxidative reactions, Total synthesis of natural products, Multicomponent reactions, Synthesis oriented to structural diversity, Reactions employing diazocompounds.
