Ivan Baxter received his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Structure and Chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute, and did his Post-doctoral work in Plant Bioinformatics/Ionomics at Purdue University and earned his bachelor of art’s degree in Chemistry from Goucher College. Ivan has adjunct status at both Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Missouri, Columbia.
" Ivan’s research uses high-throughput elemental profiling to measure the elemental composition of plant tissues including soybean seeds and corn kernels. These data are used to perform genetics and modeling to understand how the interactions of elements, genes and the environment determine the elemental composition of plants and allow plants to adapt to different environments.
