Biography

Alison Watters I was appointed to the Board in May 2016. I am a scientist and dairy farmer and have over 18 years’ experience in governance roles spanning the commercial, educational, sporting and farming sectors. My previous roles include Director of Human Nutrition at Massey University, and Technical Manager for Fonterra during which time I was involved in commercialising food innovation internationally. I am a farmer-elected Board Director for LIC. I have a passion for the primary industry and in particular dairy, and together with my husband Andrew own a 630 crossbred dairy herd in the Wairarapa. I have an honours degree in agricultural science and a PhD from Massey University.
