Biography

  Mr. Knapman is president of Auxvona, LLC, a physician practice consulting company. Auxvona assists pathology groups address high-priority organizational challenges including monitoring key performance indicators, refining governance processes to facilitate decision making, and leveraging market trends. Doug also is a Senior Analyst with Health Care Development Services, Inc. Mr. Knapman participated in the establishment of practice engagement at the College of American Pathologists (CAP). As Director of the Practice Management area at CAP, Doug worked with pathologist member leaders from multiple generations, he lead the development of practical practice tools and resources, and the inclusion of practice management in resident, new in practice, and education programs. He played a leadership role in the evaluation of the future of pathology, and in improving the practice information gathered by CAP surveys. Mr. Knapman now leverages his interactions with pathologist leaders and practices from across the country to strengthen physician practices. Prior to his role at the College of American Pathologists, Doug managed the business operations of a large pathology practice, and regional outreach laboratory that evolved into a central laboratory for a hospital network. His professional experience and understanding of pathology group dynamics is acknowledged by pathology industry leaders around the country. Mr. Knapman has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Hope College and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
